Joane and Vaughn are the sweetest couple who are both elementary school teachers and have a deep passion for learning. They both like to keep things simple and absolutely love spending time in nature hiking and going for long walks. They were looking for help planning a stress-free and affordable intimate wedding in the Canadian Rockies with their close family and friends. 

After some deliberation on locations, Joane and Vaughn settled on an intimate wedding at Peyto Lake on the Icefields Parkway in Banff, Alberta. It was decided that we would celebrate their vows at the Peyto Lake lookout before heading along the parkway and stopping for intimate wedding photos at Bow Lake.

The day of Joane and Vaughns intimate wedding at Peyto Lake finally arrived, and we all rendezvoued at the parking lot. Once all of the guests arrived, Vaughn and I set out to the ceremony location ahead of Joane and her family to await her arrival.

The ceremony was short and sweet with immaculate views of Peyto Lake and the Icefields Parkway, and the weather for the day couldn’t have been more perfect.

As we headed to Bow Lake for wedding photos, Joane and Vaughn let their hair down and walked through the grass in their bare feet, laughing and dancing with one another, among enjoying sips of fresh Prosecco – the perfect beverage in the summer heat. 

After adventuring in the area together, we departed from taking wedding photos at Bow Lake to gather their car from the Peyto Lake parking lot. We ended up spending a little more time at the Peyto Lake ceremony location because Vaughn lost the car keys! We looked for quite some time, but had no luck. We drove back to their hotel in Lake Louise together, hoping that someone from their bridal party had the keys. The day ended on a high note when we returned to the hotel and they found their car keys! The best part? I got to enjoy some of their delicious vegan cupcakes on my drive home.
