As a wedding photographer in Canmore, Alberta, I had the honour of capturing the most extraordinary moments at this styled intimate wedding, and boy oh boy, was it a treat!

Golden Hour Portraits: When Magic Unfolds

Let me tell you a little secret… There’s an absolutely magical time, just before the sun meets the horizon, called golden hour. It’s when everything around glows with an incredible and otherworldly radiance that has made photographers dub this timeframe “magic hour”. I couldn’t get enough as the couple, bathed in the warm, golden light, looked like they had stepped straight out of a fairytale. Magic hour is definitely when time stands still and my heart soars with the amazing moments and light that the golden sun provides.

The Beauty of Green Foliage: An Archway of Nature's Embrace

Now, picture this: the gorgeous couple in love and wrapped in each other’s arms, surrounded by the most lush, green foliage you’ve ever seen with wispy florals adding the perfect finishing touch. It formed a natural archway, which happened to frame the late evening sun in a way that made our jaws drop. I couldn’t resist capturing their love against this backdrop. The vibrant hues and delicate textures of the foliage created pure magic as the couple took each other in while exploring every nook and cranny of the archway. Every click of my camera was a pure masterpiece… it was hard to narrow these photos down to just a few!

I can’t gush enough about how gorgeous this beautiful venue was once it was styled by the incredible team at this intimate wedding session! The talented team at Wild Rose Weddings and Orange Trunk Vintage Rentals wove their magic and transformed the venue into a harvest wedding wonderland. From vintage pieces that whispered stories of days past to the intricate details that made our hearts flutter and our cameras shutter, they left no detail out of the picture. It was like stepping into a place where reality and imagination danced hand in hand. The vibe, the decor, the venue, and the couple all were well matched and complimented one another incredibly.

Quirky Charm: The Cutest Little Tap Truck

Of course, there are too many favourite moments at this styled intimate wedding to count on one hand, but this little tap truck from MBarGo Tap Trucks did not fail to to make the cut. Guests can enjoy a beverage of choice served cold from the trucks mobile taproom. My favourite part of this whole experience was the table settings that accompanied the cute little tap truck. Scribed on the side of amber coloured growler jugs, guests could find their name along with their table number. This little attention to detail really helped to set the vibe.

Although the day is over, I can’t help but reflect on the magical intimate wedding day that unfolded before my lens. This styled wedding just outside of Calgary, Alberta was a testament to the entire team’s creativity, and a little sprinkle of whimsy from the venue.
