When Joelle and Shawn contacted me to arrange their session, I knew right away that we should host their engagement in Kananskis Country at the beautiful Wedge Pond. With stunning and awe-inspiring big-mountain views, and a reflection that is one of the best in the area, I knew they wouldn’t son forget this morning spent at Wedge Pond in Kananaskis Country.

Joelle and Shawn, as well as their most adorable pup Winston, met me at Wedge Pond in the wee hours of the morning so we could host their engagement session during sunrise. With partial clouds and high humidity, the morning was looking great for an epic sunrise! We headed down to the ponds edge and began the session. High winds unfortunately made for little reflection, and soon blew in more clouds. We were lucky to get a few minutes of colour, before the sun was shrouded in cloud. As it lightly began to rain, we were treated to a fleeting rainbow which was there and then gone before we could even move to be in position. During the shoot, as the weather and mountains had their fun, we changed our plans and headed to a wheat field by Mount Kidd to take more photos. It’s always such a treat when clients trust me as their photographer! We went on quite the adventure and ended up taking a short hike (which Joelle did in Birkenstocks!) for the last few images of this session.

I am so glad to have met this vibrant and fun couple, and absolutely love their pup Winston! he was so well- behaved and made my day! Dogs are always welcome at my sessions, and I can’t guarantee they won’t get spoiled with treats while we are working together.
